About Making Friends for Heaven's Sake

The Making Friends for Heaven's Sake Seminar

Bill Mowry and Tyler Flynn have conducted the Making Friends for Heaven’s Sake seminar in over 30 churches, training hundreds of people.

The seminar is a four-hour learning experience that provides biblical and practical training in how to build relational bridges for sharing the gospel. It uses a variety of teaching approaches, including investigative Bible studies, personal stories, small group interaction, practical instruction and hands-on application. Each attendee will leave the seminar with a personal action plan for developing friendships in their relational networks.

A church can host a seminar by itself or co-sponsor one with several other churches. Seminars typically are held on a Saturday morning or Sunday afternoon. For information on how to schedule a seminar, click here.

Why have a Making Friends for Heaven’s Sake seminar?

One pastor said it best: "The best gospel presentation in the world is not very helpful if we don't have anyone who's willing to listen to it."

Research shows that fully eighty-five percent of all new Christians come to faith in Christ and join a church as a result of their relationship with family and friends. The need of the hour is not more evangelistic methods but the relational skills needed to build authentic bridges for the gospel! Relationship building is at the heart of Making Friends for Heaven’s Sake.

Much current evangelism training focuses on explaining the Gospel and persuading people to believe it. Making Friends focuses on how to win the respect and trust of a seeker so that we can engage them in a meaningful spiritual conversation.
